If there is one company that knows how to make a puzzle game and make it well then that company is Popcap Games. For a number of years now they have been making hit after hit on the PC and recently they have moved their attention to the PSN Network and the 360 Live Arcade.
 

Thankfully however, the PC has not been forgotten altogether and returning to one of their former greats they have now produced a sequel called Zuma’s revenge. 

Essentially it is the same game with the spinning frog that fires coloured balls into a long line of marbles that are slowly making their way to a pit. Your job is to clear the whole line before this happens. You do this by making rows of at least three of the same coloured balls in the line. Of course there is the possibility of combos if you make a gap and when the gap is filled the balls make another set of three etc. 

So what is different about the new game: 

1. New levels
2. Power ups
3. Boss battles
4. New Bonus Modes – Iron Frog Gauntlet and Heroic Frog

 The boss battles are probably the best new feature. Here the game alters the challenge as the frog is now at the bottom of the screen and he must fire balls at the devil who is at the top of the screen. In the way are two rows of the marbles and the frog must make gaps in these rows in order to get to the devil. 

Graphically as is expected with a game from Popcap it is colourful and bright and the sound is also incredibly catchy to the extent that you will probably being humming the tunes long after you have turned off the game. 

Overall this is another triumph from Popcap. If you were one of the 17 million people who played the original game then you definitely should play this sequel. The new touches are all well thought out and add to the addictiveness of the first title.

If you are not then shame on you because you should be and please do not miss the chance to play this new version. It is a great mixture of skill and fun and a must have purchase and download.
