Capcom has announced that Devil May Cry 4 will be released multi platform, on the Playstation 3 and now X-Box 360 and Games for Windows. They want to take full advantage of all of the hardware on the market. This is huge for Microsoft who has had trouble luring in Japanese developers, and to get a series as big as Devil May Cry is a major tell in how the major publishers are viewing the Playstation 3.

Historically Capcom has supported Sony this flagship series, and all 3 previous Devil May Cry titles were released on PS2. This may indicate stronger relations between Microsoft and Capcom, and perhaps other big titles will make their way to the X-Box 360. This is bad news for Sony, who flaunted Devil May Cry 4 when they originally unveiled the PS3. Not much has been seen publically of the game since then, and questions arose about its' development have risen. With the game now being multiplatform, the release will probably remain TBA for a while, and may be pushed to 2008.

Capcom is also releasing an animated Devil May Cry series in Japan on the WOWOW tv network, perhaps someday we'll see an American translation or release.
