God of War II Walkthrough Click the buttons in the top right to print or save as a .pdf file {mospagebreak} RHODES You begin the game inside a room with multiple enemies. Begin slashing away using combos. There are a lot of enemies, but you will have all of the weapons of the first G.O.W. game and they are all maxed out, so it shouldn’t be too hard. Once the room is cleared, go up to the door and press the R1 button, and then rapidly press the “circle” button. (This is a little different than the first G.O.W., but easy to catch on to). Head outside and continue to slash your way through across the walkway. DO NOT RUSH TO THE END OF THE CORRIDOR, AS THE COLLOSSUS WILL SMASH THROUGH IT! When the walkway is completely cleared and Colossus has opened the way, head into the next room. Smash everything in sight in order to collect red orbs if you wish *note* although you lose these orbs and are unable to use them to upgrade anything.* Open the green chest, climb the ladder and exit into the next area. Get ready for your first boss fight of the game. -Boss Fight: Colossus; Part 1- Immediately jump down from the ledge as Colossus will smash it and hurt you if you stay there too long. Start slashing at enemies, but watch Colossus carefully. When it rears its arms back, be ready to use the evasive rolls in order to get clear before it smashes its hands on the ground. Once Colossus’s hands are on the ground, attack them until he pulls back in pain. Continue to slash at enemies until he does this two more times. A cut scene will ensue showing you a catapult. When Colossus is stunned *after making it flinch 3 times*, jump up to the catapult and launch the rock at him. When the boss is knocked out, press the R1 button near the handle of the catapult to mount it. Press the “circle” button rapidly to pull the catapult back and launch Kratos onto Colossus. Once you launch Kratos onto Colossus, a series of buttons will appear on the screen. Follow the sequence to take out the boss’s right eye and be launched to the next area of the game. If you hit the wrong button, or hit a button too late in the sequence, Colossus will grab Kratos and smash him against the wall. If this happens, you will have to hurt him 3 more times and then launch yourself back onto Colossus. *Don’t bother trying to memorize the button sequences in the game as they are random.* ____________________________________________________________________________________ WATERWAYS AND ROOFTOPS SEX MINI-GAME (optional) Get out of the water and climb out to the ledge. There is a wall that can be broken with two women behind it. If you remember this part of the first G.O.W. then you’ll know what to do. If you haven’t played the first G.O.W. then you just approach the women and follow the button sequence to get a large amount of red orbs. You can repeat the process as many times as you like, you’ll even hear some lines from the women that are kind of funny. When you’re ready to continue the game, jump into the water and swim through the large pipe. Use the Dash Charge (hold R1 then release) to break through the gate, and then swim up to the surface. Swim toward the ledge on the right side of the surface and climb the ladder. There is a lever across from the ladder, activate it and you will be given access to a swing point. Press and hold R1 to attach to it and swing across the gap. You have to press the jump button in order to release from the swing point. Swing across the gap and continue down the path. Jump up on the next ledge and open the door to get outside. Slash through the small group of soldiers and continue to the ladder. Climb the ladder and head forward, be ready to rapidly press the “circle” button as Colossus will smash through the wall and try to squash you with his foot. Continue and open the blue chest if you need a magic refill, then climb the wall to reach the rooftops. Now it’s time to face the colossus again. -Boss Fight: Colossus; Part 2- This fight is a little bit tougher than the first encounter, but as long as you continue to evade and use tough combos on his arms, *lightening magic works well too*, then you should prevail easily. This time, Colossus has some unblockable moves but don’t get discouraged just keep working on him until he gets stunned. To your right *in the middle of the platform your fighting on* you will see a swing point, you can use this to switch sides and attack him when he turns around. When you’ve made him rear back in pain 3 times, he will fall over with his arm on the balcony. This is your time to do some damage, but you have to do this to both arms, one at a time. Quickly make your way to the side that has the arm on the ground and press the “circle” button. Now follow the button sequence to destroy the first arm. Now repeat the process *make him rear in pain 3 times and press the “circle” button near his fallen arm* in order to take out the second arm. When you successfully destroy both arms, Colossus will grab Kratos and try to squash him like a bug, press L1 and R1 alternately in order to get free. ____________________________________________________________________________________ {mospagebreak} RHODES PALACE When you regain control of Kratos, open the blue chest and then work your way up to the door in the area above Kratos. Continue around the corner to find some archers on the other side of the gate. You can either ignore them or use magic to kill them *I suggest ignoring them and saving your magic for when you need it*. Take a right, and then another right to enter another hall with a save point. SAVE YOUR GAME!! (I can’t stress this enough as you do NOT want to repeat entire stages because you passed a save point). Some random enemies will appear and I suggest you roll toward the archers and take them out first, then concentrate on the other enemies. Once the room is cleared, get ready for the first puzzle of the game. Puzzle: Double Floor Button Solution: Look for a pedestal on the left side of the wall. Drag the pedestal to the button to open the door. Charge kick (hold R1 for a second and release) the pedestal toward the second button and then quickly do a roll toward the gate to get under it before it closes. Before you use the statue to open the next door, drag the pedestal into the hall and kick it to the end of the hall. Then jump onto it and break apart the statue above the pedestal. Open all 3 chests; the middle one will contain a bonus item (The Urn of Gaia). Once you obtain the Urn, take the pedestal back to the second button and use it to open the door. Head down the hallway to encounter the last group of soldiers. Once again, take out the archers first, and then take down the rest. Once you have cleared all the enemies, head toward the elevator. Open the red chest if you wish, then activate the lever to head to the top floor. When you reach the top, you will see the colossus peek into the window, use a combo on him to trigger a cutscene. ____________________________________________________________________________________ EASTERN RAMPARTS Climb the wall, and then take out the archers and soldiers that stand in your way. Open the door and head inside the next room. Open the green chest to regain some life, and then smash the windows and head outside. You can try your luck and cross the wooden bars before taking out the archers, but if you fall you will face an onslaught of soldiers below. I suggest you drop down and eliminate the archers and soldiers before trying to cross. Once everyone has been eliminated, climb back up and cross over. Keep an eye on the right side of the wooden bars for 2 hard to see chest, double jump over to collect them, then jump back and continue across. When you reach the other side, save your game as your about to face the colossus one more time. Now climb the ladder and enter the next room. Now slide down the chain to the room below and take out the soldiers. Open the door and get ready to face the final colossus battle. -Boss Fight: Colossus; Part 3 This fight is time consuming, as you have to beat him 3 times during this battle. The first wave, as you approach the Blade of Olympus, the boss will continue to pound the floor. Instead of heading for the sword, head for the large chunk of metal that use to be Colossus’s hand and press R1 to hurl it at him. Run back to the sword and press R1. The second wave, you need to run up to Colossus’s body and start unleashing your heavy combos on him. When he does his double-swipe/slam attack, use evasive rolls until he is done and then continue to bombard him with combos. When he rears back, run to the sword and press R1 again. The third wave of this battle is done the same way as wave 2 was. Bombard him with heavy combos and when he rears back, run to the sword and press R1 again, this time you acquire the sword.*Note* You will notice that as your obtaining the sword *the pressing of R1 at the sword* has drained your red orbs, magic and life back to nothing. Run up to Colossus’s arm and use the sword and combos until he falls over. Once Colossus takes enough damage, the “circle” icon will appear over his head. Press the “circle” button and you will enter his body. Once you’re inside the boss’s body, work your way up the scaffolding as you take out hordes of enemies on your way. Do not get hit by the falling debris and do not come in contact with the blue rods as they will both hurt you. Once you reach a point where you can get to the center platform, do so and attack the chains until they break, then press R1 when it appears on the screen. This will drain the power from Colossus and place it into the sword. Once you’ve drained that part of the body, continue making your way up the path. You will reach a dead end; use the wall to make your way to the next section of scaffolding. As you continue up, the floor will fall out from under you, double jump toward the zip line and make your way to the next section. When you reach the other side, press R1 to drop down from the rope and take out the soldiers that appear. Then walk across the wooden bars to reach the center platform and break the chains and drain its power. Go across the wooden bars again and continue up the scaffolding and scale the wall at the top. More soldiers will try to stop you, take them out and continue to the center platform. Climb across the ledge on the center platform, then drop down to grab the ledge and shimmy the rest of the way. There is a secret area near the blue bars as soon as you climb back up on the center platform. Make a left turn to the side to see an area of the wall that you can climb up, do so and open the chest to gain a Gorgon’s Eye. Jump back down and break the chains on the center platform and drain the power here. Now climb the rope and jump toward the scaffolding. This next level starts with a puzzle: Puzzle: Pendulum Solution: Head toward the level and activate it to lower the pendulum. Jump down and smack the pendulum until it starts to swing, then climb back up to the lever and pull it again to bring the swinging pendulum back up. Jump up to the line above and cross it when the pendulum blocks the blue rays. This part takes a bit of patience! Once you make it past both eyes, drop down and break the chains on the last pole and drain its power. The place will start to fall apart, make your way to the boss’s mouth and jump out to complete this boss fight once and for all. ____________________________________________________________________________________ {mospagebreak} PALACE OF RHODES This is one of the shortest parts of the game, slowly approach the Blade of Olympus *not that you have a choice on your approaching speed* to trigger a cutscene and a battle with Zeus. You cannot win this battle so just sit back and let him kick the crap out of you, press the “circle” button when prompted to get the next cutscene. ____________________________________________________________________________________ HADES When the cutscene ends and you regain control, you will have to climb up the wall while being attacked by arms that stick out of the wall. Just hack and slash your way to the top, continue to move as the arms will reappear. As you take out the arms, they will release health orbs and refill your life. When you reach the top, there will be a save point, save your game. There will be a bunch of dead soldiers laying around the area, check them out and you will find one still alive. As you near him, a cutscene will begin and Pegasus will show up. *don’t worry, he’s on your side*. Once the soldier leaves, walk up to Pegasus and press R1 to mount him and begin a long flight. ____________________________________________________________________________________ THE PEGASUS FLIGHT As you fly on Pegasus, you will be attacked by griffons, use the left and right dash attack along with your weapons until the “circle” icon appears over their heads. Press “circle” and input the button sequence to take them out. If you use heavy attacks on them, they will fly ahead of you and shoot energy balls at you. You can dodge these by pressing the “triangle” button and fly up to them or just try to dodge them by flying left and right. You have to take down 4 of these beasts in order to progress the story. Once you’ve killed all 4 of the griffons, a large raven will appear and start to dive bomb you. Just dodge this and use the dash attacks to get the “circle” button to appear, press “circle” and complete the button sequence to kill him. The last part of the flight you have to dodge purple energy balls for a little while, then you will enter the next stage of the game. ____________________________________________________________________________________ LAIR OF THE TITAN Once you land, Pegasus will get trapped under the hand of the titan. Kill the harpies that appear and drop to the bottom of the stairs. *if you press the “circle” button when attacking the harpies, you will grab them and rip off their wings, it’s kind of cool.* While descending the stairs, you can continue to descend the wall to reach 2 chest, one has a gorgon’s eye and the other has red orbs. Collect these and then climb back up the wall. Once you reach the top *by the fingers*, head to the other end of the path and descend the wall. Ignore the enemies that appear as they will just distract you. Press the R1 button to quickly descend and the “x” button to climb the wall faster. Follow the wall down and to the right, then across the ceiling and down the next wall. Climb across the ceiling and then down to reach the floor at the bottom. Once you reach the floor, kill any enemies that may have followed you down the last part of the wall. Once at the bottom, you will see a save point so save your game and continue on. Work your way down the path and you will encounter a Minotaur and some harpies. You may find that jump attacks are a good way to do damage to both enemies while sustaining little damage to yourself. Continuing down the path, you will come across a zip line with a cage on it, destroy the cage. Don’t forget to get the red orb chest to the left of the zip line. Heading through the door will take you to the snowy cliff area. ____________________________________________________________________________________ THE SNOWY CLIFFS When you enter this area, you will have 3 archers on top of wooden scaffolding and 3 Minotaur. If you attack the scaffolding, the archers will fall to the ground and you can kill them off. Once the archers are dealt with, concentrate on the Minotaur and then work your way up the cliff. When you get to the top there will be some orb chests to open, open them and head down the zip line. Make your way across the arm to the hand and approach the large bird to trigger a scene. After the cutscene ends, attack Prometheus’s chains to bring him down. Head down the chain to the right of him and go around the large fire pit and you will be shown another path to take. Make your way down to the bottom of the walls taking enemies out on your way or taking them out when you reach the bottom. Save your game at the bottom. Follow the path around the cliff eliminating enemies on your way, when you get to the end of the path, there will be another chest with a Gorgon’s eye so be sure to grab it. DO NOT CROSS THE BRIDGE, AS YOUR NOT PREPARED YET…instead scale the wall to the top and enter the door with the helmet over it. ____________________________________________________________________________________ TYPHON'S CAVERNOUS PRISON When you first enter the cave, there will be 2 chests, open them and collect the orbs then continue down the path and you will see a swing point. Press R1 to jump across the huge gap. If you want another phoenix feather, go to the right and get on the next zip line *it will take you back the way you just came* and press R1 repeatedly before you drop off the zip line. This will launch you toward the cage allowing you access to the chest. Continue heading down the path until you reach a small circular area and get ready for a medusa to appear. Kill her and use evasive rolls to avoid being turned to stone. When the “circle” icon appears, press the “circle” button and complete the button sequence to finish her off. *The button sequence during the medusa kill is always a rotation of the left analog stick.* When you kill the first medusa, 2 more will appear along with some harpies. Try to eliminate the harpies first as they will do a fire dive bomb attack that causes serious damage. Using the same technique, take out the remaining medusa’s and then smash the pillar that is blocking the way. Descend the wall to reach the save point and save your game. As you approach Typhon, he will begin blowing gusts of wind at you, wait until he stops and rush to the next section that has a wall to keep you from falling off the ledge. Rid yourself of the harpies once you are behind a safe point of the ledge by grabbing them and ripping off their wings. Wait for Typhon to stop blowing wind and rush to the next safe point. Continue this until you reach the top ledge where you will find a large pillar to smash and knock down to form a bridge that leads toward Typhon. Wait for him to stop blowing wind again and rush to the newly reachable area, press R1 when you reach the top in order to jump to him and obtain the Typhon’s Bane (a bow and arrow). Once you get the Typhon’s Bane, use it to fire arrows at him until he is blinded and then make your way back to the ledge you knocked the pillar down from. When you reach this area, archers and soldiers will appear, use the Typhon’s Bane to take out the archers and then mow down the soldiers. Head to the right and you will see some swing points, take out the archers with your Typhon’s Bane and use the swing points to get back to the save point where you saved last and then save your game. Once you’ve saved your game, head back down to the area with the broken bridge and shoot the shining light to gain access to a swing point. Cross this swing point to reach a red orb chest and a gorgon’s eye. Now head back to where you left Prometheus hanging and shoot him with a couple of arrows, you will get a cutscene and the Rage of the Titans power. After obtain the rage of the titans power, some soldiers and Minotaur will appear so take them out with either the rage of the titans power or some combos. Once the enemies have been defeated, climb up to the newly accessible area. At the top of the path, you will see wooden scaffolding; shoot it with an arrow to bring it down, and then climb the rope to the top. When you reach the top, there are 2 secret areas before you cross the broken bridge. The first area is a large chain that goes down next to the bridge. Jump toward it and slide down to an area with 3 treasure chests (2 contain red orbs and the third contains a Gorgon’s Eye). Climb back up when you get the 3 chests, then look at the wall next to the broken bridge, you’ll see that you can scale it. Scale the wall to the left to find 3 more chests (2 containing red orbs and the third containing a phoenix feather). Now cross the zip line eliminating enemies as you cross, then jump down to the door, activate the rage of the titans and break it down with a combo. Go back to the area where the Pegasus is trapped and use the rage of the titans and whack at the fingers until they release Pegasus. Hop on Pegasus and fly out of the titans cavern. ____________________________________________________________________________________ {mospagebreak} THE PEGASUS FLIGHT - PART 2 Just like the first flight, you will be swarmed with griffons and harpies, just use light attacks on them both and perform the wing-rip fatalities when the “circle” appears over their heads. After killing 3 griffons, you will encounter the dark raven again, just like the last time you faced him, beat on him for a while and he will fly off and shoot the purple balls at you. Dodge about 5-6 sets of purple balls and the kill sequence will begin to take out the rider and then the raven itself. When Kratos falls be ready to press the button that appears on the screen before he falls too far and dies. When you press the button correctly, Kratos will grab the wall, climb it to reach the next section. ____________________________________________________________________________________ TEMPLE OF LAHKESIS This section is fairly easy to begin with. Just grapple your way up to the top of the temple and then turn right and locate the save point, and then save your game. Once your game is saved, go to the other side of the balcony to locate 2 chests (one containing orbs and the other containing a phoenix feather). Go back to the ladder and climb to the top, when you get there, grapple your way to the upper balcony and jump up to the next ledge. Some soldier enemies will appear and you will need to eliminate them before climbing the next ladder to the top. As you approach the center of this area, you will see a bunch of hell hounds. You can use a lot of combos or you can grab them a couple times to make Kratos kick them and then snap their necks. *Note*, if you grab the hounds, Kratos will be invulnerable to attacks while he is grabbing and kicking them, this is much easier than using combos. Puzzle:
The Double Gate Solution:
Go back to the court and you will see a bunch of bodies hanging from the ceiling, destroy them all for some red orbs and a dead body. Grab the body (press R1 when near it) and take it to the button on the floor. Step on the button and take the dead body with you and place it on the second button, then have Kratos pull the lever and enter the gate before it closes. Enter the next area and head for the large bridge, press R1 to kick it down to get a new cutscene. Get ready for a mini-boss battle. ____________________________________________________________________________________
GARDEN OF LAHKESIS MINI-BOSS: CERBERUS + HOUNDS Go back toward the entrance of the bridge area and follow the ledge around. Be sure to run and be ready to jump as the ledge crumbles from under your feet. Jump through the open part of the path and down to the room below. Get ready to fight Cerberus and his kids. During this battle, just grab the little hounds and kick them towards Cerberus, after about 5-6 kicks to Cerberus, perform a couple hard combos on him to trigger the kill sequence. Once you decapitate the first head, repeat this process 2 more times to kill him. *Note* Kicking the hounds nets you health orbs. Now make your way to the lower area of the courtyard and look for the statues. Attack the third statue in order to drop a pedestal and then drag it over to the ledge that Cerberus was standing on. Jump up to the ledge above and locate the save point and save your game. Once you’ve saved, go between the 2 pillars beside the save point and scale the wall to the bottom. If you follow the ledge around, you’ll find a couple of orb chests, then go up the ladder located between the chests and grapple the ceiling. While crossing the ceiling, eliminate the soldiers until you make it to the other side of the ceiling, then climb up to the top. ____________________________________________________________________________________ UPPER GARDEN - PATHWAY TO THE STEEDS When you climb up, more hounds will appear along with a few archers. Use your Typhon’s Bane on the archers and start kicking hounds! Jump toward the balcony across from you and more soldiers and archers will appear, eliminate them and then activate the lever in order to descend to the next area. You will encounter a siren in this area, she has 2 attacks: a double swipe and a shriek attack. If you stay away, you can avoid most of her shriek attacks *if you get hit with one, just shake your left analog stick back and forth to break free*. Use 1-2 heavy combos then roll away, continue this until the “circle” button appears, press “circle” to kill her and crack the door. When you kill her, 2 more sirens will appear, use the same strategy *although avoiding the shrieks will be harder since there are 2 of them* to eliminate them and finish breaking the door open. Before leaving this area, Climb the wall and then jump to the chain. Climb the chain to the top and smash through the wall to get a couple orb chests and a Gorgon’s Eye. Drop down and exit to the next area, you’ll find a save point so save your game. ___________________________________________________________________________________ THE STEEDS OF TIME - ENTRANCE Climb to the top of the steed and go around the gate to find a lever and activate it to bring down a zip line to the next horse. Take the zip line down to the next horse and get ready for another boss fight. BOSS FIGHT: THESEUS This fight isn’t too hard as long as you have a lot of patience. If you rush him and just try to kill him, you will not survive so be evasive. Attack Theseus with a couple of combos until he rears back ready to attack, and then roll away. Roll back in and attack again, blocking is a good thing in this fight! Continue this strategy and he will soon run off and perch himself above the doorway. Use your Typhon’s Bane and shoot arrows at him until you’re out of magic. After a few hits, Theseus will summon a couple of Minotaur, destroy them to recover some health and magic, and then shoot Theseus with more arrows. When he falls, you will receive the “circle” prompt; press it to perform the kill move. After Kratos takes the horse-keepers key from Theseus, press the “circle” button rapidly to perform a bloody fatality on Theseus. Enter the room and open the 2 orb chests and then read the book on the pedestal and then exit out either side. Make your way to the top of the steed and jump up to the top tower and use the zip line to get back to the area you started in. ____________________________________________________________________________________ HORSEKEEPER'S DOOR Using the Horse-keeper’s Key on the door in the center opens a new area, so open it and go inside. When you approach the mantle and press the R1 button when you get to the mantle in the middle of the room and Cronos will appear and give you Rage of Cronos, the lightening elemental power. Use your new power on the soldiers that appear and then exit the left side when the gates open to find a save point and save your game. If you go around to the other side, you will find a chest that contains a phoenix feather, so don’t forget to grab it. Once you’ve saved and grabbed the phoenix feather, head down the long path to reach the reins of the steeds. ____________________________________________________________________________________ {mospagebreak} REINS OF THE STEEDS When you reach the reins of the steeds, you will have to solve a puzzle first thing. Puzzle: The colored levers Solution: Grab the green lever first and rotate it until it stops. You do NOT need to rotate the joystick quickly, just rotate it as Kratos walks. Once you’ve rotated the green lever, quickly run to your left and scale the wall to reach the green energy block and press R1 to use the Horse-Keepers key. This will release a harpie that has a swing point on its feet, remember its location. Once you’ve activated the green energy block and released the harpie, jump down the front of the steeds’ nose to grab the gorgon’s eye that is sitting in a chest at the bottom. Now head back to the levers and rotate the red one. This time, run to the right and scale the wall to reach the red energy block. Press R1 to activate it and release yet another harpie with a swing point on its feet. Now, go back to the levers again, this time rotate the blue lever. Now run to the right side again and scale the wall again. Use the swing point to get to the steed on the far right *you may need to jump to grab the swing point to save time*, then run and jump your way quickly to the top to activate the blue energy block with the R1 button. Finally, head back to the levers and rotate the yellow lever and run to the left, up the wall, across the swing point *once again, jump for it if need be to save time*, and activate the yellow energy block. Once all energy blocks have been unlocked, go back to the lever area and approach the center, there is a lever in the middle, press R1 to release it and begin a sequence of buttons to drive the steer *most of them are rotating the left analog stick*. Once you get a cutscene, make your way back down to the steer, and then follow the chains back to the temple. You will be attacked by Minotaur and soldiers on your way so be ready to take them out. ____________________________________________________________________________________ TEMPLE OF LAHKESIS This area is really short; all you have to do is climb the wall taking out any rubble in your way. Get to the top to find a save point and save your game. Once the game is saved, head into the next area. ____________________________________________________________________________________
THE DIVINE POOLS When you first enter the Divine Pools, you will encounter a new type of harpie; these ones explode when they are destroyed. If you grab them, you will rip off their wings and then throw them at other harpies *a quick way to take them out*. Head to the back wall of the first area and attack the wall to gain access to a red orb chest. Go up the waterfall and turn right at the top to find another red orb chest, and then head to the left. Go around the balcony and scale the wall to the left and you will find 3 chests, 2 orb chests and another containing a gorgon’s eye. Scale the wall to the bottom and head right, you will find a breakable wall that hides a chest with a phoenix feather, grab it and head back to where you started. Once you get back to the balcony, take out the harpies and head through the doors to find yourself in an area with a button in the middle of the room, you will also see a very large statue in the center at the end of a walkway. Ignore the button for now and drop down below. There will be a large fountain in the middle of the room, walk up to it and press R1 when prompted and drag it backwards. Now walk around it and dive into the water that is in the hole under the fountain and swim until you reach a wall. Press and hold R1 to do the dash attack and break open the wall, and then continue swimming until you reach the next room. Walk up to the statue and press R1 to obtain the Amulet of the Fates, and then work you way back to the room with the fountain. Head to the button and step on it, do NOT step off, once the pillars are fully raised, press L1 + R1 together *I find it easiest to press L1 and hold it, then press R1* to activate the Amulet of the Fates and freeze time. When time freezes, quickly climb one of the sets of pillars and head back to the back of the room where the other button was. Step on this button and wait for the hands of the large statue to lower all the way to the bottom. Once they lower themselves, freeze time again and run to the hands, jump on and wait for the cutscene. When the cutscene ends, attack the head until it breaks off completely, then jump down to the newly accessible ledge. Make sure to grab the chest on both sides of the statue, one contains red orbs while the other contains a phoenix feather. Exit this area through the hole that the statue head created and approach the statues head to bring out some shadow wraiths and harpies. Take them out and then smash the statue head and continue through the door. Cross the bridge and make sure to grab the chests on both sides *one is an orbs chest and the other is a phoenix feather* and then take the ladder to the bottom. ________________________________________________________________________ DESTINY'S ATRIUM When you approach the center of this area, you will be attacked by a couple of dogs and a Cyclops so take them out quickly. When you kill the first Cyclops, 2 more will appear, so take them out as well. Once everyone is dead, you will have to solve a puzzle. *ignore the area that is on the right side with the wall that shoots fireballs, you don’t have the required equipment to get here yet* Puzzle: Laser Eyes Solution: You will notice four ladders, two go to where you came from and the other two will go to the middle level where the lasers cross a bridge in the center. Climb one of the ladders in the middle, closest to the statue, to reach the middle area. There are statues on either side; the object is to get each of them into the center by the lasers. The one on the left can be drug into place from its location; the one on the right however, has to be drug out of an indented area. Drag the left on over the bridge and into place in front of the right eye, then head to the right statue. You will notice a lever on the opposite side of the statue; activate it to bring down a platform. Now grab the statue and drag it to the platform you just lowered and pull the lever again to raise it. Jump up to the top of the ledge and grab the statue again. When you have a hold of the statue, hold the R1 button and then press and hold the “x” button to rear back to kick the statue. Kick it and run after it, then finish pushing it until it is blocking the left eye. Once the puzzle is solved, jump down and head for the save point, grabbing the orbs chests on your way and then save your game. __________________________________________________________________ {mospagebreak} BOG OF THE FORGOTTEN This area begins with a boss fight, so be ready for it…it’s a fairly long fight as there are 3-4 sections to this battle. The boss fight begins by you being drug behind a horse, so watch for buttons to appear on the screen and press them when they appear to avoid losing too much life during this part. Once you get to the end, its time to take on an old friend! BOSS FIGHT: THE BARBARIAN KING The first part of this fight has the Barbarian King circling around the area shooting arrows at you. He will occasionally charge at you, just block the arrows and dodge the charge attack, getting in a few licks when you can. Just continue to do this for a little while and then you will see the “circle” icon appear, press the “circle” button to dismount the Barbarian King and kill his horse. Ok, easy part done, now comes the fun. In the second part of the battle, the Barbarian King uses 4 attacks: the ground pound, hellspawn summon, legion of undead souls, and a double swipe attack. If your using patience, just dodge his attacks, taking out the undead when they are summoned, wait for him to do the ground pound move and then open up on his with some heavy combo attacks. When he rears back to attack, roll out of the way and wait for another ground pound attack. When he starts summoning the undead soldiers, kill them to acquire health and magic then continue to concentrate on the Barbarian King. This would be a good time to use your Rage of the Titans power. As your attacking him, he will change at two stages of the battle, he will grow to a really HUGE Barbarian King, then he will shrink back down to normal size. Each of these stages are done at different points of his life being taken away. Just continue using the same strategy, waiting for his ground pound attack in order to attack him, and dodge and block the rest of the time. Eventually, the “circle” icon will appear, press the “circle” button to initiate the button sequence for the final kill. When you kill him, you will obtain the Barbarian Hammer and be attacked by a group of enemies, just take them out using the hammer or your regular blades if you want *I did*. Once everyone is dead, look for the swing point in the trees and use it to get to the next area. Work your way down the path and kill the hogs that appear. ____________________________________________________________________________________ TEMPLE OF EURYALE When you reach the temple, there is a save point on the right side, use it and save your game! You don’t want to have to go through that last battle again do you? For now, continue down the right side path *ignore the left one as you don’t have the needed item at the moment* until you reach a dead soldier. Approach him and press R1 to obtain Euryale’s Key. Once you grab the key, you will be attacked by some soldiers, eliminate them and head back to the temple entrance. When you reach the entrance, you will be attacked by a couple of skeleton warriors * a stronger type of enemy*. Either use your Barbarian Hammer or a few combos to take them down, if they just drop to the ground...their not dead, they MUST shatter into the wind to be dead. Once they are eliminated, head down the left path until you reach a door and unlock it with your new key. When you enter the door, there will be a green orb chest and a well hidden chest containing a gorgon’s eye *just across from the green chest*. Follow the path to reach the next area. ____________________________________________________________________________________ RUINS OF THE FORGOTTEN When you enter this area, you will be attacked by a huge Cyclops, just take him out with combos and roll away to avoid his attacks. When the “circle” button appears, follow the button sequence to kill him and obtain a Cyclops’s Eye. When you kill him, some soldiers and another Cyclops will appear, just continue the whooping and take them all out. Now head for the doorway that is under the pillar roof area *notice it will move, don’t worry, you wont fall or anything, just remember this for later*. Push the stone out of the way and open the gate to enter this area. Work your way around the hallway all the way to the end *don’t make any turns* and get the 2 chests at the end that have orbs in them. Now go back to the middle of the hall and enter the cave. Jump down into the pit and kill the exploding harpies and shadow wraiths that appear, once you eliminate them, destroy the large rock pillar in the middle of the room to gain access to the swing point. Use your newly found swing point to jump across the gap and up to the ledge, Continue on and climb the ladder on the right side. When you reach the top, use the zip line to get to the other side *killing the soldiers on the rope* and you will find 2 chests, one is an orbs chest and the other contains a gorgon’s eye. Jump down and work your way past the red water until you are in an area with some archers. These archers will use exploding arrows and also toss bombs your way, use your Typhon’s Bane to make short work of them. When you take them down, they will actually crawl at you and explode when they get near you. Walk up to the large pillar and press the R1 button and then alternate the L1 + R1 buttons to destroy the pillar. Continue into the next area and get ready for another puzzle. Puzzle:
Tri-Gates Solution:
When you enter this room, you will see a large gate in front of you, a button in the middle of the room, a partially open gate to your left with a button behind it, and a gate to your right with a dead body. There is also a lever in the upper right side of the room, there should be a swing point there to get to it, if not, use your Typhon’s Bane to break something there to give you access to it. There are a couple of orb chests here as well. When you activate this lever, it lowers the gate on the right side giving you access to the dead body. Jump back down and ignore the body for the moment, break the wall behind the dead body to gain access to a couple of enemies and a small stream. Head to the left gate and hop over it, smash the wall there to gain access to another small stream. Now, head back to the dead body and pick it up using R1, place it in the middle of the stream that is behind where you just picked him up from. Now run over to the stream on the left side and wait for the body to appear there, pick him back up when he appears. Toss the dead body onto the button behind the partially open gate then head to the button in the middle of the room. Step on this button to open the gate the rest of the way and run/roll through it before it closes. Go to the save point and save your game. Head down the path to the next area. ____________________________________________________________________________________ RIVER OF THE FORGOTTEN After the cutscene ends, you will find yourself in an area with a large blood river and 3 circular platforms bound by chains. In this room, you must jump from platform to platform to get across the river. When you get on each platform, you will see a lever to rotate; this rotates the whole platform and pulls you closer to the next platform. As you rotate the platforms, you will be attacked by enemies, your quickest way to eliminate them and not end up back at the point you started at is to use your Rage of Cronos magic *the lightening magic*. This will stop the enemies for a moment and allow you to continue to rotate the lever. Once you get across the river of blood, you will see a large rock formation up the path a bit. This is a mini boss fight as that large rock formation is actually a Minotaur made of stone. Approach it and it will jump up swinging. MINI-BOSS FIGHT: PETRIFIED MINOTAUR This enemy has 3 attacks depending on how close you are to him. If you are at a distance, he will throw rocks at you, if your about half way to him, he will perform a ground pound followed by a series of punches to the ground, and if you are really close, he will perform an arm swing move where he sticks his arms straight out and starts spinning in circles. You can either unleash your Rage of the Titans and then a bunch of combos or you can rush in, attack, roll back, and repeat. When the “circle” icon appears, perform the kill sequence by following the button pattern on the screen. Once you defeat him, walk up to where he was standing and press R1 to attach your blades to the tree and rip it down, providing you with a path. Follow your new path up to the wall, scale the wall, jump down and get on the zip line *take out the enemies on the line*, and head to the door that is in the upper corner just before the wheel. Open it to reveal an amulet statue. Activate the statue *L1 + R1* and run across the giant wheel. As you cross, you will see a chest in a small alcove above the conveyor belt at the end, grab this if you wish keeping in mind that time will resume while your getting it *it contains green orbs*. Continue across the conveyor belt and the wooden pole to another conveyor belt. Slowly make your way across this conveyor belt avoiding the green beams of light *they will turn you to stone unless your in Rage of the Titans mode*, killing soldiers as you cross it. When you get to the end, destroy the gate at the end to get access to the swing points. Use the swing points to make your way across the open gap to the landing, Grab the orb chest and then destroy the statue in the middle to reveal a stone that you can move. Push the stone forward and jump out into the area where you started the level *the area with the moving pillar roof area*. Push the stone onto the pillar platform to the side by the entrance, this will show a gap on the back side of the platform. Go to the gap and press R1 and tap the “circle” button to tip the platform into the water and open a new path. ____________________________________________________________________________________ {mospagebreak} THE PETRIFIED PATH Take the new path across the river and climb the wall on the other side, destroy the branch in your way and continue across the wall to the ledge on the far right. Drop down and head into the cave. Work your way down the path, ignoring the big wheel on your way at the moment, and you will enter an area with a dead soldier and a stoned Minotaur. Destroy the Minotaur for some red orbs and go over and talk to the soldier on the ground. When the cutscene ends, kill the medusa that appears and then grab the dead body and take it down the path to the conveyor belt. Drop his body on the belt to stop the conveyor then attack the broken wheels to open a new path. Before taking the path, continue down past the conveyor belt to locate 2 chests at the end of the hall, one with orbs and the other with a phoenix feather. Now head back to where you destroyed the conveyor wheels and continue through the path, grabbing the orb chest on your way if you need it, if not, save it for after the Cerberus fight. Lift the gate and take on the Cerberus inside to obtain the Golden Fleece. When the enemy falls, activate the lever on the right side of the room and then with your new ability, walk in front of the door that is shooting fireballs and use the fleece to fire the fireball back at the door to break it down. When you break down the door and exit, you will be attacked by a couple of medusa’s, just eliminate them the way your use to and head back toward the cave entrance. Remember that wheel you passed on your way in here, destroy it to gain access to a chest that contains a gorgon’s eye. Now that you have the fleece, head all the way back to the entrance of Euryale’s Temple, saving your game on your way there. *NOTE* Now that you have the Golden Fleece, backtrack to the conveyor belt that had the stone gazes on them (where you got the second stone to place on the pillar platform before dumping it into the river) and reflect all of the stone gazes to destroy a wall to reveal some treasure boxes. One of these boxes contains the Urn of Gorgons. ____________________________________________________________________________________ TEMPLE OF EURYALE When you get to the front door of the Temple, use the Golden Fleece to reflect the medusa’s gaze back at the door and then break the door down with a few attacks. Enter the doorway and go down the hallway to the gate, press R1 and tap the “circle” button to open the gate and enter the room. Destroy all the soldiers that are stoned and the ones that appear that are not stoned and then take the ladder down to the next floor. When you reach the bottom floor, you will face 2 Minotaur and a bunch of soldiers, just clear the room and enter into the next hallway grabbing the orb chests on your way to trigger another cutscene. Walk up to the lever and lower it to the floor below, but stop lowering it as soon as Kratos will fit out of the opening *DO NOT LOWER IT THE WHOLE WAY*. Jump out of the elevator and take out the harpies in this room. There are 2 chests hidden in this room, one is under the elevator you just came down, it’s a bit hard to see due to the light glare in this room, run toward the back of the room and you will see the doorway on the left side. This chest holds a gorgon’s eye. The second box is hidden behind the logo on the back wall of the room. Jump up and attack the logo to reveal it, open it to claim a phoenix feather. Once you’ve obtained both chests, jump onto the second elevator *the one that doesn’t have a handle, and scale the back wall of the elevator *there are ledges to climb up*. When you get to the top, you will encounter a tougher type of soldier, he blocks a lot of attacks, just use your Golden Fleece and reflect his hits back at him, smack him a couple of times with your blades or just crack him with the hammer a couple of times to defeat him easily. When you finish him off, go to the save point and save your game. ____________________________________________________________________________________ LOWLANDS VISTA Go back and head to the left of your screen and climb up to the top platform. Next, you have to scale the ceiling while avoiding a bunch of blades, if you get hit, you will have to start the process over, so take your time. When you reach the other side, drop down and activate the lever to pull back the spiked wall inside the caged area. When you let go of the handle, you will have to quickly run through the caged area, grabbing an orb chest on your way if you wish, and then open the door at the end before the spiked wall catches up and squashes you. Next, you will have to jump down and take out the petrified soldier standing next to the book on the pillar. When you read the book *press R1* you will be attacked by the next boss of the game Euryale. BOSS FIGHT: EURYALE Euryale is fast and powerful; you can either block her attacks with the Golden Fleece or double jump to avoid them. Roll away from her shrieks and gaze, or reflect them back at her *although they wont turn her to stone or stun her*. Air attacks or Rage of the Titans is the fastest way to defeat her, just make sure your not in the air when she starts her gaze attack or you will be killed when you hit the ground. When she runs away, she will go back to the pillars and slither up the pillar. She will then commence attacking you with either energy balls or an area stone gaze, now is when you want to run up and do powerful combos *L1 + any attack button* to take her out quickly. When you take enough life from her, the “circle” icon will appear, press “circle” and then rotate your analog stick to rip her off the pillar and make it crash down on her. When she is pulled from one pillar, she will run to the other one. Just repeat the process when she is on the second pillar in order to take her down again. Then she will commence to pounding the ground while chasing you, just roll out of her way until she starts using her tail to attack again, and then use the same strategy you used when you started the battle. After a little while the “circle” icon will appear again and you can start the final blow button sequence. When you kill her, you’ll obtain a new magic power, Euryale’s Head *the same as Medusa’s Head in the first one, gives you the ability to stone enemies*. Equip this new power as you need to use it in order to beat a few soldiers that appear in order to proceed with the story. Once you beat the soldiers that appear, the path will open, allowing you to leave the area to a save point, go save your game. ____________________________________________________________________________________ WATERWAYS This area starts you out with solving a puzzle. Puzzle:
Turnstiles and waterways Solution:
This puzzle isn’t hard, but it is long so get ready to be here for a little while. Turn the first turnstile *white one* until the pillar stops moving. Next, swim over to the platform with the lever on it and activate the lever to open a door underwater. As soon as you activate the lever, use your Amulet of Fate *L1 + R1* to stop time and jump into the water and swim through the open gate. Surface and turn the yellow turnstile until it comes to a stop. Now the next part is a little tricky, jump into the water and locate the lever opposite the doorway you came in, when you pull this lever, you will see 2 gates open, you have to use your dash swim *hold R1 for a moment and release* in order to make it the whole way across through both gates before they close. Once you’ve made it through those gates, swim up and turn the red turnstile in this room until it stops. When you get the turnstile to stop, turn around and destroy the cracked wall behind it to get a chest with a gorgon’s eye. Next, jump back into the water and find the wooden door on the right and use your dash swim to destroy it. Swim to the surface and get out, turn the green turnstile until it stops. Your almost done, approach the last lever across from the turnstile and activate it to open the way out above you. Enter the door to your right and make your way down the hall, turn right when you can and enter that room. Approach the lever and you will trigger a few enemies to appear, kill them all and then activate the lever. Once the lever is activated, stop time *L1 + R1* and run back down the hall and quickly climb the ladder, when you reach the top, wait for time to resume and freeze it again. Now get ready to do a lot of swinging and double jumping. Use the swing points to quickly make your way around the room from swing point to swing point. You have to be quick as the last turnstile begins to lower the minute time starts moving again. If you don’t get across on your first try, just keep trying, you will eventually make it to the door that you opened on the upper level. The last jump you have to make *to the last turnstile* you will have a pillar in your way, so make sure to jump around it. When you get to the enter it to take on the ‘Crushing Floor” challenge. This room has a lever on the wall opposite the door, activating this lever will bring the floor up toward the ceiling and you will be attacked by a few dogs. You could try to take them all on with your blades or use your magic, but pay attention to the ceiling. You don’t want any dogs alive when the ceiling gets close or they will stop you from holding up the ceiling and you will be flattened. When the floor reaches the ceiling, you will have to tap the “circle” button and Kratos will push the floor back down, do this a about 5-6 times *while killing the pair of dogs that drops every time you push the ceiling down* and the doorway to the next area will open, jump through to complete this challenge. Once you get through the door, go around the hallway and kill the harpies that attack you, and then make your way across the wooden bars. When you reach the last bar, you will see a spot on the wall that you can jump and grab, jump up and grab it and then shimmy your way over until the floor is under you. Drop down and exit this room to encounter another stone Minotaur. Kill him the same way you killed the first one and then jump up and use the swing point to reach the save point, save your game! ____________________________________________________________________________________ {mospagebreak} CATACOMBS OF THE FALLEN As you make your way through this next section, you must destroy the skeletons that block your path, just like before, and make sure you kill them instead of them just falling to the ground. They aren’t dead until you see their bones scatter in the wind. Run all the way up the stairs and activate the lever at the top to bring down the rest of them. Climb out of the hole and run back to the save point just before the Bog of the Forgotten section and save your game. You can also choose to run back through the Bog section to obtain two chests that were missed while you were being dragged behind the horse on your first visit here. Once you’ve gotten them *or if you decided to pass on them* head to the hole in the far left wall where the wall is shooting fireballs at you, time to enter the next area of the game. ____________________________________________________________________________________ DESTINY'S ATRIUM Once you’re at the fireball spitting wall, use your Golden Fleece to reflect the fireballs back at the wall to open a path to the next area of the game. Once the wall is destroyed, use the ledge on the right side of the cave to shimmy across the gap in the floor. Take out the archers with your Typhon’s Bane and then take out the soldiers *remember, they block a lot, so use the fleece and the hammer combo to kill them quickly*. Use the swing point to swing across to the next ledge and then there will be another swing point that will take you to yet another ledge. Swing across to this ledge and scale the wall to reach an orbs chest and a gorgon’s eye. Now continue to swing your way across to the other side and take care of the soldiers. Once the area is cleared, climb the ladder to reach the next area available. ____________________________________________________________________________________ COURTYARD OF ATROPOS When you reach this area, you will be attacked by shadow wraiths so take them out and save your game at the save point. When you clear the area, you cannot solve the puzzle here so don’t worry about it at the moment. Head to the door to the left of the save point, open it and head inside to the next area. ____________________________________________________________________________________ HALLWAY OF ATROPOS As you make your way through the hall, you will be attacked by some priests that summon Minotaur to attack you. The priests won’t attack you unless you go after them. It would be smart to go after them unless you want to collect a bunch of orbs. The Minotaur will continue to come until you take out the priests. Once the room is cleared, you will have to solve another puzzle. Puzzle:
Two Statues Solution:
There are 2 statues and a turnstile in this room; the statues are on either side of the turnstile. Drag one of the statues over the platform in the far left corner of the room then go back and drag the second statue over beside the platform. DO NOT PUT IT ON THE PLATFORM! Run back to the turnstile and turn it to raise the platform all the way to the top, when you release the handle, the platform will begin to fall to the bottom again, rush over and push the second statue under the platform to keep it from coming all the way down. Jump up on top of the platform and then on top of the statue that’s on the platform. Then jump from there to the floor above. Grab the orb chests and then head up the ladder next to the large gate. There is a chest at the top of the ladder area, but when you approach it, enemies will appear, so its up to you if you want to go after it or not. Either way, head down the stairs on the right side and work your way down the hall. When you walk into the open area, you will be attacked by 2 satyrs, just use your Golden Fleece against these enemies to take them down. Kill them to open the doorway with a stone block in it, pull the block backwards and jump on top of it to find a chest with a gorgon’s eye. Jump back down and kick the block through the doorway and head through it to end up back in the Courtyard. ____________________________________________________________________________________ COURTYARD OF ATROPOS Once you’re back in the courtyard, drag the large block that you kicked through the doorway over to the pillar that has the broken ladder on it and use it to get to the ladder and climb up to the platform above. Kill the harpies that appear and then explore the balconies to find some orb chests and a phoenix feather chest. You will also come across a statue that is missing a shield, ignore it for now. Make your way to the door in the upper left side beside the large statue with the energy beams coming from its eyes. When you enter the door you will be attacked by a couple of enemies and a berserker enemy. Kill them all and another berserker will show up. Take him out then climb up and out the left side of the room to a save point and save your game. ____________________________________________________________________________________ EDGE OF CREATION In this next area, go around the ledge and use the swing points to make your way up to the other side of the area. When you reach the upper ledge, you will encounter 2 sets of soldiers, take them out and make your way to the ledge that overlooks a huge gap with a tree on a section in the middle, its time to solve another puzzle. Puzzle: Vines Solution: This puzzle is not hard, it just takes a few minutes to run back and forth and make your way around. First, step on the switch by the ledge and you will notice 2 sets of vines that extend to the center island. Remain on the switch until the vines reach the center platform and then stop time *L1 + R1* and then run to the center platform taking a left when you get there and run up the second set of vines. * There is a chest hidden on a platform below the center platform that contains a gorgon’s eye. If you choose to grab this, you will have to run to the center platform, grab the chest, and then make your way back to the beginning of the puzzle and start over* Once you make it to the second platform, kill the enemies that appear (a couple of soldiers and harpies), and then step on the switch, stop time, and rush back to the center platform turning left and heading out the second set of vines to another ledge. Once again, take out all of the enemies, step on the switch, stop time, and repeat the process. After crossing the last set of vines you will find yourself by a large door, enter this door for another boss fight. BOSS FIGHT: PERSEUS This battle either takes your Rage of the Titans, a lot of patience and quick evasions, or a lot of magic. Perseus is invisible for the first part of this battle, but don’t freak out, just watch the water for his footsteps or stay in the shaded areas to see a faint shadow of him. Block his attacks and smack him with some hard combos until the “circle” icon appears. Press the “circle” button to destroy his helmet. Once you destroy his helmet, you will be able to see him. Continue your attacking and blocking until the “circle” icon appears again, this time you will destroy his sword. With his sword gone, he only has his shield and slingshot to attack you with. If you want to end this battle quickly, try to get him pinned against the back wall, then the “circle” icon will appear again. Just keep beating on him and blocking until you get him pinned in. When the icon appears, follow the button sequence to end this battle. When you kill Perseus, you will obtain his shield, open the chests near the chain for some orbs and then slide down the chain back to the courtyard. ____________________________________________________________________________________ {mospagebreak} COURTYARD OF ATROPOS Now that your back in the courtyard, its time to solve this puzzle. Puzzle:
Courtyard of Atropos Solution:
Go back up to the statue that was missing its shield, its on the balcony with the bridge on the right side of the courtyard. Break the perch that the statue is on and approach the statue to place the shield on it. Then grab it and kick it down into the bottom area of the courtyard. Drag it over to the wooden partial bridge and place it into the indention. Go to the turnstile in the center of the courtyard and spin it until the statue is all the way up and blocks the green energy ray coming from the statues right eye. Then let go of the turnstile and quickly run back to the broken ladder and scale it, when you get to the top, run over to the energy ray coming from the left eye and use your Golden Fleece to reflect it back at the statue. After a moment, both eyes will explode, and the energy field that had you blocked in will disappear. Run over to the save point and save your game. Once the game is saved, head up the stairs to get to the next area. ____________________________________________________________________________________ LOWLANDS ENTRANCE As you start down the path, you will notice a path with 2 chests, but when you try to go for them, the floor drops and closes the door, we will come back to these. Head off to your right and take out the 2 archers using your Typhon’s Bane and then use the swing point to swing to the other side *or you can just swim in the water*. Continue down the path and around the corner to find another small water filled gap, swim across it and then continue down the path and around the corner. Go out and look for the wall on the right side that you can climb, do so and when you get to the top, activate the switch there. Drop down into the small area that opens up and you will see the raven you killed earlier with a spear sticking out of him. Press R1 when near the bird to grab the Spear of Destiny. When you grab the spear, a few enemies will appear, just use it or your blades to take them all out and then grab the statue and drag it back to the last water-filled gap that you crossed to get here. Activate it (L1+R1) and hurry back to the area that had the trap floor and the chests behind the door. With time stopped, you can now cross and obtain the chests behind the door, there are 3 of them; one contains a gorgon’s eye, one has a phoenix feather, and the last one has the (Urn of Olympus). Once you grab the 3 chests, head back to the statue and drag it back to the area that you got it from (up the inclined path). Place the statue on the giant turnstile and rotate it until it is facing the opposite direction and then push it back to where you first moved it from. Now run down to the broken bridge area and step on the bridge, walk across it until it becomes level. With the bridge level, activate the Amulet (L1+R1) to stop time and allow you to cross the gap and reach the save point, save your game. ____________________________________________________________________________________ CROSSING THE LOWLANDS Get ready for some serious jumping and swinging! This part is self explanatory, just jump and swing your way across as the pillars crumble from beneath you. Don’t go too fast as some of the swing points are quite a ways away, stand on the falling pillars until you know you can reach the jump point with a double jump, and then go for it. When you reach the other side, enter the cave and get ready for 2 immense battles. The first battle will pit you against 3 sirens and 2 Minotaur. Just use your fleece to block and return their attacks. Watch your health as your going to need it for the next battle set. When you clear the area, continue down the cave and you will see an orbs chest, don’t get too excited and rush in. When you near the chest (or the exit) to this room, you will be attacked by 2 Berserker enemies and a Satyr. This battle will take a lot of defense and some quick combos. You can use the spear or hammer in this battle to speed it up a bit if you want, just time your attacks well. If you think you can grab the chest (as it takes a second to open them and you will be attacked while doing so) then go for it, otherwise, just save it for after you clear them out. Once you take out the Satyr, another one will appear, just take everyone out, grab the orbs chest for a life refill and continue down the path to the save point and save your game. ____________________________________________________________________________________ THE GREAT CHASM The only thing in this area is a boss fight which is really easy. When you near the end of the bridge, there will be a cutscene and you will meet Icarus. When the battle begins, you will be falling down a giant hole, this fight isn’t really even much of a fight as all it consists of is single button depressions. As your falling, you can press the “square”, ”triangle”, or “circle” button to punch at Icarus. Once in a while, you will have to rotate your left joystick when the screen prompts you, do this to save some life and end the battle faster. When it appears in the lower corner, start mashing the “circle” button to rip off Icarus’s wings and obtain them as a new ability. These wings are cool, but hard to get use to at first, just double jump and hold the jump button on the second jump, the wings will appear and allow you to float. ____________________________________________________________________________________ THE FACE OF ATLAS When you land, you will be standing on Atlas’s face (near his nose). Head up the path to the left to reach a couple of orb chests and a save point and save your game. Now head back to Atlas’s nose and climb the side of his face to reach a ledge above. Next, double jump your way across each ledge using Icarus’s Wings to float to the next ledge, if you fall, don’t worry as you will land on the path that has the save point. When you reach the end of the paths on his face, you have to work your way out onto the hanging platforms, so just continue you’re jumping and floating to reach the end. The last jump you will have to float for a while and will probably fall onto the platform. Reach this point, and then jump into the mouth of the cave in front of you. *On each of the hanging platforms, you will have to take out some harpies so they don’t interrupt your flight to the next platform.* When you get into the cave you will be attacked by some harpies and a couple of Satyr, just take them out in the same fashion your use to. Once the area is cleared, head to the doorway that has some tentacles over them and attack the tentacles to make them disappear. Now drag (or kick) the bone through the hole to get through the short tunnel. When you reach the other side, jump on top of the bone to reach a ledge that has a couple of orb chests and a phoenix feather. Jump back down and grab the bone from the opposite side you grabbed it the first time and drag it into the doorway. Jump on top of it again to get into the next area. When you jump down into the next room, you will have to face a mini boss, your friend the petrified Minotaur. BOSS FIGHT: Petrified Minotaur This fight is a little harder than your use to, but all-in-all the same. Just attack him like you're used to as he has the same moves as before except that he moves around this time. After you deal a lot of damage, the platform will sink, just jump onto the wall at the back of the room and get ready to dodge a barrage of rocks that he will throw at you. Continue to dodge rocks until the platform raises itself again, then jump back down and continue your assault on him until he dies. When you kill him, he will leave a small rock behind, grab it and drag it to the nearby door and jump on top of it. Jump/glide your way to the doorway and climb up. Go to the end of this platform and jump/glide to the bottom to get 2 chests (one has orbs and the other has a phoenix feather). Exit this room to find a save point and save your game. ____________________________________________________________________________________ {mospagebreak} INSIDE THE MIGHTY TITAN Once your game is saved, attack the tentacles next to the save point to release a floating boulder. Jump back to the middle area and follow the boulder until it stops and then jump on to it. Destroy the stuff blocking your floating path and get ready to jump quickly, when the boulder falls over the edge of the river, just jump and grab the swing point. Once you’re on the swing point, jump/float to the next area. When you land, there will be something blocking your path, just destroy it and it will release some pressure. Jump toward the pressure and let it push you up higher, then just float to the ledge. In the next section of this cave, you will come across a bunch of harpies and their hives. In order to stop the flow of harpies, you have to take out the hives. Here, you can decide to collect a few extra red orbs if you want to take the time, but if not then just kill the hives and take out what harpies remain in order to clear the area. When you take out the hives, one of them will leave access to a climbable wall, climb it to the ledge above and grab the 2 orb chests. Jump across the gap to the climbable wall opposite the ledge, scale it and the ceiling while destroying the stalactite that hang in your way. When you reach the end, jump down and head out into the next area BUT DO NOT TRY TO JUMP OUT OR YOU WILL FALL! Look left to find a wall that you can scale, head left and destroy the stalactite and enemies that appear in your way. The first stalactite that you destroy gives you access to a room that contains a couple orb chests as well as the (Urn of Prometheus) so grab them if you want them. Continue making you way across the ceiling, taking out stalactite and enemies as needed, until you reach the end, climb up into the hole at the end to get to the next area. Head down the platform and climb down the wall, head for the save point and save your game. Now you have to jump/glide to the next platform while grabbing some extra height with the steam pressure. When you step out into the next area, you will see a few floating platforms, make your way to the one that has the turnstile on it. When you approach the turnstile, you will be attacked by harpies and a couple of satyr; do not try to move the turnstile until ALL enemies have been eliminated. Once you’ve taken them all out, turn the handle until the platform your on reaches the top, then jump/glide across the 3 swinging platforms, time these right as the platforms ARE moving. When you reach the last one, use the zip line to reach the next save point and save your game. ____________________________________________________________________________________ ASCENSION OF ATLAS Climb the wall and jump across to the next wall, continue up the wall taking out enemies as they appear. Destroy the rocks that are in your way and continue all the way to the top. When you get to the top, you will see a swing point, use it along with 2 more swing points to make your way up until you reach a scalable wall. Climb up the wall and then jump across to the ledge. When you head around the ledge, you will see 2 large stones and a ledge, time to solve a puzzle. Puzzle:
Double Stones Solution:
Grab one stone and drag it next to the platform below the sloped area and then grab the second stone. Drag the second stone to the top of the slanted platform and push it on top of the first stone. Jump down and grab the double stacked stones and drag them to the wall at the ledge, climb onto them and head up to the ledge. Standing at the edge of the ledge, jump toward the wall that is climbable and make your way to the left to find a chest with a gorgon’s eye. Now, go back to the ledge you climbed onto with the two rocks and head around it, you will come to another climbable wall THIS ONE IS A BIT TRICKIER! As you climb this next section of walls, rocks will fall and take you out, so you have to figure the pattern out (the rocks alternate sides) and climb the wall while avoiding these rocks. Climb all the way to the top, jumping back and forth to avoid the rocks. When you get to the top, you will have to head left and slide down a wall, then continue left and climb another wall in the same fashion as the first (jumping back and forth to avoid falling rocks). When you reach the top, destroy the large chain at the top to get some cutscenes. During your cutscenes, you will be prompted to press L1 + R1 to avoid being squished like a bug by Atlas. When you complete this set of scenes, you will obtain the Atlas Quake power. Take out the set of enemies with your newly obtained power to get another cutscene. When the scene ends, jump/glide to the save point and save your game. ____________________________________________________________________________________ THE PALACE OF THE FATES Jump/glide your way across the platforms until you reach the Palace gates. Make sure to grab the orbs chest on your way across the platforms. When you get to the Palace gates, you will see that there is a giant gate blocking your entrance, under the walkway you will see a lever, activating it will lower the slanted walkway. When you do this, you will be attacked by a slew of enemies including 4 large Cyclops, a few armored hogs, and bomb throwing archers. Take them all out; use the button sequences on the Cyclops so you can get their eyes. When all the enemies are dealt with, grab the large chunk of wood sticking out of the round platform near the chest and rotate it all the way to the left and the open gate will appear, jump in and get ready for some fun. Activate the lever in the middle of the room to activate a revolving door puzzle. This doesn’t really have a solution except patience. As the doors in the room rotate, an open door will allow you access to rooms with orb chests in them. Keep in mind that the wall continues to move the whole time, so if you want the chests, be quick. As the doors are rotating, spikes will pop up from the floor, just watch for the white dots to appear to know where they will come from and get out of the way. You will also be attacked by soldiers during this event. The doorway in the upper right has a large stone in it, when the opening gets to this doorway, just pull the stone out to stop the spikes and rotating doorway. If you wish to get the chests safely, wait until you solve the puzzle to go after them. One of the rooms has a dead body in it, approach it and press R1 to obtain a crank which you will need in a little while. Once you have all the orb chests and the crank, head out the opening and follow the path down until you can turn left and end up in a large courtyard. You cant open any doors or use the horn, so just take the ladder on the other side up to a platform with a turnstile that has no handle. Press R1 to insert the crank you found on the dead body and spin it until it stops. Rotating this turnstile will lower the flames on the left of your screen. Stop time (L1+R1), jump down to the courtyard and jump/glide across where the flames were. Next to the flames is a crevice that has a chest containing a phoenix feather, grab it and then jump across to the balcony. Head inside to find a save point and save your game. Once the game is saved, head past the save point and jump into the next area. ____________________________________________________________________________________ THE EAST AUDITORIUM At the end of the hall is a lever, activate it to open the top portion of the metal gate. Now quickly run back to the steam hole, double jump/float until your high enough to fly through the opening. The gate will slowly close so you have to be quick! Head down the hall and take out the Satyrs and hounds that appear. When the room is clear, open the large door and enter. ____________________________________________________________________________________ AUDITORIUM OF LAHKESIS Upon entering this area, destroy the large wooden construction thing in the room and drag the stone all the way across the bridge to the other side of the auditorium by the man that is praying. Pick the man up and place him somewhere other than on the button, place the large stone on the button then pick up the translator. Now that you have the translator, you must protect him, if he dies, so do you. As you work your way back across the bridge, you will be attacked by Satyrs and hounds. Using the Atlas Quake, the enemies will be stunned and you can grab the man and carrying him to the pedestal but I suggest taking out the ones that appear as you will have more added to the pack when you reach the alter with the book on it. Once all enemies are cleared (including the ones inside by the alter), approach the book and press R1 to start a cutscene. During this scene, you will be prompted to tap the “circle” button to make him keep reading. Once he has read the book and Kratos has killed him, there will be a cutscene with Lahkesis, after the scene, approach the door with the ram on it and Kratos will take the Ram Key. Now that you have the Ram Key, open the door, head down the hall to the next door, open it and go back to the save point and save your game. With the game saved, head back into the courtyard and open the door with the Ram Key. Enter the room and go through the hall, you will be attacked by enemies while two spiked walls slowly close in on you. Use the Atlas Quake and some heavy combos to take them all out before the spikes close in completely. There are groups of enemies at both ends of the hall…remember this! Once you take out all enemies, the spiked doors will open back up and allow you to exit. Leave this area and head up the stairs into the Garden area. ____________________________________________________________________________________ GARDEN OF THE GODS When you enter the garden, there will be 2 chests that are a bit hard to see in one corner, they have a phoenix feather in it and red orbs. When you’ve gotten the chests, destroy the wall in your way and head on through. Use the wall and climb across each of the open gates, when you get to the third one jump down to a secret platform and climb the ladder to get a couple or red orb chests. Jump back to the wall and continue scaling until you reach a ledge with a save point, save your game. In the next room, there will be a large door at the end that when you approach it, it will say you must provide sacrifice to gain access. You will be attacked by 3 separate sirens. You must beat each one until they are dazed (they must be dazed near the side walls) and then you have to activate the lever on the opposite side of the room as the dazed siren in order to burn her alive. Repeat this 2 more times to open the path to the next area. Once inside, grab the orb chest and jump into the bloody water and swim through the tunnel while avoiding the spikes. When you climb out of the water on the other side, head down on the screen (toward you, the gamer) to find 2 chests containing red orbs. Now head into the next room and get ready for another puzzle to solve. Puzzle:
The Frozen Eagle Solution: Jump down into the pit with the frozen eagle and activate the lever behind the eagle. This will melt the doorway in front of the eagle and it will give you access to a large globe mirror. Jump out of the pit and scale the wall to the ceiling, climb across the ceiling and take out all of the icicles hanging from the ceiling as they will allow small beams of light in. You only have to destroy one, the one directly above the door that you entered the room from. Once this one is destroyed, jump down and grab the globe. Now drag the globe over to the beam of light by the entrance until the light reflects down into the pit with the eagle. Once the beam of light is reflected, head to the 3 levers and rotate them until you have the large half moon in view, when this happens, the ice will melt off the eagle. With the ice melted from the eagle, you can now spin the eagle, so spin him and use his fire breath to melt the ice from each doorway. When melting the doorways, 2 doorways have a Minotaur in them, a couple of chests (one containing a phoenix feather) and a door. When you’ve collected everything you want, open the door and head into the next area. ____________________________________________________________________________________ {mospagebreak}
HARPIE NEST Head down the hall, around the corner and jump down into the room with the turnstile in the center. This room can be a bit frustrating if you do not take out the harpie nests first. Take out the nest near the floor, then scale the wall and ceiling and destroy the 2 nests on the top sides of the room. With the nests destroyed, jump down and eliminate the remaining harpies. Once all harpies and nests are gone, turn the crank in the middle of the room until a swing point appears on the left wall. Quickly jump to this swing point and hang there until you reach the top and then jump off. Grab the 2 orb chests on your way to the next area. Get ready for another mini-boss. MINI-BOSS FIGHT: HELLHOUND CERBERUS + MINI-HOUNDS + BERZERKERS Unlike the other Cerberus battles, you cannot kick the hounds at this one. Just use your fleece attack, a lot of blocking, and some short, quick combos. You will have to face 4 of these large dogs. When you kill all 4, then 2 berserkers will show up. Just take them out to clear the area and open the door, head out and up the ladder that is a bit hard to see to the save point. Save your game and then open the next doorway and jump down into the next area. ____________________________________________________________________________________ AUDITORIUM OF ATROPOS When you enter this room, there is a Time Amulet statue nears you, grab it and drag it to the end of the hall. Place the statue near the gate and activate the lever to open the gate. Slide the statue under the gate so that it cannot close again, then run to the left and enter through the picture that looks like it’s a water reflection to be transported back in time to the point before the translator commits suicide. Stop time immediately after exiting the picture and run up and grab the translator before he commits suicide. Once you have him, take him to the book, press R1 and make him read the book just like the last translator. When he finishes, you will have another cutscene with Lahkesis, then head to the door to obtain the Warrior’s Skull. Open the door and get ready for another puzzle. Puzzle: Steam Vents Solution: Rotate the turnstile until it comes to a stop and then quickly jump/glide up to the next platform. Activate the lever on this platform and then quickly jump/glide again, when you reach the peak of your floating, float to the ledge on your left side. Once you’ve made it to the ledge, jump to the ceiling and scale your way across to the other side. Drop down and head to the next room and rotate the turnstile to lower yourself to the bottom. Jump/glide out and back into the courtyard. ____________________________________________________________________________________ THE PALACE COURTYARD The minute you land in the courtyard, prepare for a Cyclops battle. Just kill them like you’ve been doing (taking their eyes) and 2 more will show up. Repeat the process until they are disposed of and then head for the doorway with the Cerberus symbol on it and use your Warriors Skull to open it. Head inside to find a couple of orb chests and a save point and save your game. The next part of the game is extremely intense and you have to be quick and patient at the same time. Approach the chain and rapidly press the “circle” button to lower the floor. As you lower it, the spiked ceiling will begin to fall so now the race is on. As you lower the floor, skeleton warriors will start attacking at different points of this process. Use the Atlas Quake and the hammer to eliminate them quickly. Continue to do this until you reach the bottom and open the door. The ceiling will continue to fall while you’re opening the door, so be quick about it. This may take you a few tries, but you will eventually get it. Once outside the elevator, open the 2 chests near the door that you just came out (one has orbs and the other has a phoenix feather). Once you get the chests, head up the stairway to get to the next area. ____________________________________________________________________________________ ENTRANCE TO THE UNDERGROUND When you first enter this area, you will see a long zip line and a few enemies already on it, use the Typhon’s Bane to take them out and then work your way across it. When you get about half way, some enemies will shoot the line and you will fall onto a platform in the center of the room. Jump up and shimmy across the ledge to the right until you reach a point where you can jump up. When you jump up, you will have to take out the archers and some gorgons that appear. Once the area is cleared, jump back down to the center platform and scale the wall on the left side, across the ceiling and onto the next platform. When you land, eliminate all of the soldiers that appear and then head down the hall to the next area. ____________________________________________________________________________________ THE PHOENIX HALL When you get into this hall, read the book to reveal a lever on the other side, leave it be for now and head to the right to the save point and save your game. Now head to the left side of the room and eliminate the skeleton warriors and a Satyr. Once they are gone, head through the doorway to end up in a room full of spikes. This room is a bit tricky and a lot of running back and forth. First, activate the lever and run to the dead body laying on the crank and press R1 to obtain the Hail or Boreas, and then run back to the lever. Wait for the spikes to pop back up and activate the lever again. This time, head to the wall on the left side of the crank and destroy it, this will reveal an Amulet Statue along with 2 chests and 2 Satyr. Once the wall is destroyed, hurry back to the lever, you might get lucky and the spikes might kill the Satyr for you. Once the Satyr are dealt with (by you or the spikes), activate the lever again and stop time. Run back and get the two orb chests and head back to the lever. Wait for the spikes to pop up again and activate the lever one last time. Once the lever is activated, run to the crank and rotate it, listen for the clicking of the spikes while watching the gate at the end of the hall on the right. When the gate is high enough to fit through, stop time and make your way over to it. Head through the door and get ready to solve a puzzle. Puzzle: Wall of Fire Solution: When you enter the next area, you will see a large wall of fire come at you every second or two. This will NOT stop, so you have to use the statue on the left side of the room as protection to get you through this room. You will also face a couple Satyr and some fire harpies on your way through this room. You can either try to take them out before you enter the room (use your Typhon’s Bane, Rage of Cronos, or Atlas Quake) or you can take them out as you make your way through the room. Drag the statue to the center of the room, using the raised sections of the floor to keep it from being pushed back by the fire wall. As you near the center of the room, you will see a large door on both sides of the room, each holding chests. There are 3 orb chests and one the holds a phoenix feather. If you want them, use the statue to protect you from the fire to open the doors and then wait until the fire wall passes you to run in and get the chests. When your ready to continue, push the statue toward the firewall some more, taking the enemies out as you continue. Place the statue in front of the lever and then pull the lever to lower the floor blocking your way. Now drag the statue to the button on the left and then stand on the button on the right to lower a swing point. Swing across quickly to get behind the phoenix that is casting the firewall. Grab the Ashes of the Phoenix and push them forward to be lowered back to the room with the save point. Push the Ashes to the center of the room and then run back and save your game. When you head back to the ashes, you will be attacked by some Minotaur and skeleton warriors so take them out. When you are done killing enemies, approach the lever and watch the cutscene. When the cutscene ends, jump/glide to the top staircase and run all the way to the top. Activate the lever at the top and you will be brought back to the Palace Courtyard. ____________________________________________________________________________________ PALACE COURTYARD When your back in the Courtyard, use the Hail of Boreas on the wall behind the lever that you just used and it will open a new door. Enter the door and head inside, turning left to find a couple of orb chests. Grab the chests and climb the chain to the top floor and use the save point to save your game. Once your game is saved, head to the large horn and press R1 to release the phoenix. Jump back down to the courtyard and jump onto the large pedestal on the left, and jump/glide across to the door to the left. Open the door to enter a room with another puzzle to solve. Puzzle: Chains and Pillars Solution: Activate the lever inside this room to raise a large wall and then scale the wall to the top and across the ceiling. Go to the second chain and cut it down to reveal a pillar, cut the first chain to reveal an orb chest. Drop down and activate the lever again to lower the wall, this will make some enemies appear so take them out. Now grab the pillar and place the pillar on top of the wall that comes up, raise the wall and jump on top of it. Grab the pillar and pull it off the other side to allow the wall to go all the way up. Now pull the pillar over near the metal door and jump on top of it and destroy the chain above the door to lower it. Head for the nearby turnstile and rotate it the whole way until it stops. Now go down the hall to the next crank and turn it until you open a door. Enter the hall to face off against an Unknown Soldier. MINI-BOSS FIGHT: THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER This fight is all about who is stronger. Use your Golden Fleece block/attack added with some heavy combos to make short work of this mini-boss. When the “circle” icon appears, grab him and end the fight, and then watch the cutscene. When the cutscene ends, you will be face to face with a large Kraken. BOSS FIGHT: THE KRAKEN When this fight begins, do not do anything; just allow the Kraken grab Kratos to trigger a cutscene. Once the cutscene ends, you will receive an upgrade for your Rage of the Titans. When prompted, activate your Rage of the Titans to begin the actual fight. In the first part of this fight, you have to attack the Kraken’s left tentacle so it raises itself off of the switch it is resting on. Once the button is released, you have to grab the dead body and place it on the switch. This will open a door in front of the Kraken and release a pressure vent, run to it and jump/glide until you’re at your height peak and then float toward the Kraken’s head, and unleash some heavy combos on him. Continue this process until he sticks his back tentacle into the vent and gets it stuck. Then run up to the tentacle and climb it, attack the joint on it to destroy it. When the “Circle” icon appears press the “circle” button to cut off his tentacle. Repeat the same process (attacking the left tentacle to gain access to the button, place the dead body on the button, float to his head and attack him) until he slams his right rear tentacle into the wall on the left side. When he does this, run up to that tentacle and then jump up to scale it to the joint and attack the joint in the same fashion as the other one. Press the “circle” button when the icon appears to cut off this tentacle. When both rear tentacles are cut off, he will start slamming his tentacles in an alternating pattern. Attack the tentacle that is NOT slamming the ground until enough damage has been dealt to both tentacles. The Kraken will begin to lose its grip and hang on to the balcony to keep from falling. When this happens, approach the lever and activate it to release a bridge that will kill him and give you access to the platform that the Phoenix is standing on. Go to the platform with the Phoenix on it and grab the orb chests behind the Phoenix. Once you have the chests, approach the Phoenix and press the “circle” button to begin a button sequence. Press the appropriate buttons or rotate the analog stick according to the sequence to mount the Phoenix and ride off to the next area. ____________________________________________________________________________________ TEMPLE OF THE FATES When you land, you will be in a large pool of water, swim over to the save point and save your game. Once the game is saved, get ready to solve yet another puzzle. Puzzle: The Bells Solution: The first thing you need to do is get to the center platform (hanging over the water) and destroy the pillar to release the green energy flow in the room. Once you’ve done this, you will notice a bell on either side of the large face statue in front of you. On your left, there is a large platform that you can grab and pull back to send it toward the bell to ring the one on the left. The bell on the right you have to ring manually. To solve this puzzle, grab the platform on the left and make it ring the bell on the left and then immediately stop time. Now jump/glide to the bell on the right and press R1 and then L1+R1 to ring the bell on the right. This will ring both bells at the same time and crack the large face statue in the middle of the room. Now, dive into the water and climb onto the ledge just under the center platform (where you destroyed the pillar). Turn the crank until you see a crank underwater appear in the 5 O’clock position. Now dive into the water and swim to the bottom of the center platform to find a lever, activate it and the pedestal will raise and lock into position around the underwater crank. Swim back up to the crank you just turned and turn it until the platform that you used to ring the left bell is facing the center statue. Climb out of the water and swing yourself back to the center platform. Now pull the swinging platform (the one used to ring the bell) back and release it to smash open the face and give you access to a new path. Before you leave, you can jump/glide off the left side (jump toward yourself, the gamer) to gain access to a couple of orb chests hidden on a ledge in the lower left corner of the room (this may take you a few attempts), grab them if you want. When your ready, jump/float into the hole in the face statue and run up the path to the Throne area. ____________________________________________________________________________________ THRONE OF LAHKESIS BOSS FIGHT: LAHKESIS This boss fight is a lengthy one as it contains 3 parts. In the first part, you are fighting Lahkesis. She will move around the arena and attack you in one of four ways: using a triple swipe attack, a fireball attack (multiple fireballs), a boomerang attack (throwing her staff at you), or a ground pound energy attack. Block her using the Golden Fleece and reflect her attacks back at her. When she gets ready to do her ground pound move, either use the swing points to get away or just double jump to avoid it. Continue to do this until the she ascends higher into the air. The second part of this battle, the sister will remain high in the air, so you will have to either double jump and attack or use the swing points to attack her. You have to attack her while avoiding her attacks; it’s a little trickier since your hanging from the swing points. When her health gets low, she will attack quicker and harder. Keep up your assault until the “circle” icon appears again, when it appears press the ‘circle’ button to end this fight. When you defeat her, you will be pulled into the mirrors by Atropos and placed on the sword used in the final battle of the first G.O.W. game. Now your have to beat down Atropos. This battle isn’t a tough battle; it consists of using quick evasion rolls, reflected attacks with the fleece, and use of your Typhon’s Bane. Atropos will shoot fireballs at you that come in slowly; you can either use an evasive roll or the Golden Fleece to avoid/reflect these attacks. When you have a chance, shoot her with your Typhon’s Bane until you’re out of magic. If you want more magic, just kill the soldiers that appear to refill your life and magic bar. When Atropos goes to the opposite part of the sword, rush over to her and beat her down with some heavy combos. Repeat this process 2-3 times and then the “circle” icon will appear. Rush to her and press the “circle” button to begin a sequence of button commands to complete this fight. Once you beat Atropos, you will be back in the Throne Room and now you have to fight both Lahkesis & Atropos together. This part of the fight is long; you have to damage Lahkesis in order to get Atropos to appear. Just attack Lahkesis in the same manner as before while dodging fireballs from Atropos. When Lahkesis is stunned, she will fall to the floor and begin to glow green. When this happens, stop time and attack Atropos until she slides back into the mirror and it cracks. When she goes back into the mirror, attack the mirror until it shatters. Repeat this process for the mirror on the other side until it is shattered as well. When both side mirrors are shattered, Lahkesis will stay in front of the third mirror and start bombarding you with major attacks. Just stay defensive and continue to unleash a world of hurt on her until the “circle” icon appears. Press the “circle” button to begin the killing button sequence to take out both sisters. Once both sisters are gone and the center mirror is destroyed, head to the save point and save your game. With the game saved, head into the next area which is a circular room, and scale the wall in the center of the room. Scale the ceiling to reach the red orb chests on both sides of the room and then head back to the back of the room and drop onto a ledge. Now jump/glide from ledge to ledge while grabbing the orb chests on your way across. When you reach the hall, head to the far right wall (in the back of the hall) and destroy the wall to open the way to the next area. Get ready for a lot of battles back to back! ____________________________________________________________________________________ THE INNER SANCTUM As you descend through the next area, you will encounter battle after battle with a lot of enemies, be defensive and patient as this may take a few times to survive through. The first wave you will be attacked by soldiers and a couple of minotaur, then you will be attacked by medusas and sirens, then Satyrs and Berserkers, then more soldiers, and 3-4 Cyclops. When you are attacked by the Medusas and sirens, there will be a heath chest and a magic chest available. There is also a magic/rage chest when you are attacked by the Satyrs and Berserkers. When you reach the bottom, unlock the door by attacking the hands on the staff and then press R1 to unlatch each lock to move the staff and open it, enter and save your game at the save point. ____________________________________________________________________________________ THE LOOM CHAMBER When you enter the first section of this battle, your not really fighting Clotho, but her hands. Make your way to the left side, attacking her hand until it falls limp, and turn the turnstile to open a gate above you. Run back to the broken stairs just past her hand and jump/glide to reach the available orb chest. Scale the ceiling to the other and approach the metal gate with statues in front of it and destroy them. Now drop down and beat her arm until it falls limp and then rotate the turnstile until the gate above opens. Once again, go back to the broken stairs and jump/float to the ledge, enter the caged area and open the orb chest and then climb the chain to the next section. Puzzle: Levers and Spears Solution: When you reach this area, you will notice that there are 3 hands to deal with here. Run to the lever that is surrounded by spikes and you will open a trap door near one of her arms. When you open the trap door, drop inside to get the red orb chest, then jump out and beat her arm until it falls limp. Run back to the lever and activate it again to trap her arm inside it. Run around to the next arm and beat it until its limp and then jump up to the ledge with the lever and activate it to drop a large spear that pierces her second arm. Now, head back to the button activated device and drag it all the way around to her 3rd arm. Beat her arm until its limp and continue to drag the device past her arm to lock onto the next spear. Beat her arm again and when it goes limp, drag the spear over her 3rd arm, climb the chain and jump to the platform with the lever on it to send the spear through her 3rd and final arm. Climb up to the top floor and get ready for an easy boss fight. BOSS BATTLE: CLOTHO For this fight, just block her ground pound with the fleece and jump over her arm swipe attack. If you need health during this fight, pull one of the two levers to bring a dead body up and when Clotho slams the ground, it will release a ton of green orbs and fill your health (use both if you really need them). The first thing you need to do is beat down both her arms until they are limp (you can stop time if you want) then run to the right side near the turnstile. Use an Atlas Quake to release the two dead bodies on the track above and then slide the turnstile until the lower right lever (the one to bring up the dead body) is in the center of the arena. Now run to the lever and activate it to bring up a large blade. (You may have to stun Clotho a couple of times during this process, do so to avoid taking unnecessary damage). When the blade is in front of Clotho, grab the handle of it to spin it so it faces her and then move to one side and press R1 to grab the blade and activate a button sequence. When you successfully perform the sequence, Clotho will be dead with the blade stuck in her head. Now go to the back of the room and activate the lever to raise the platform. Now swim around the corner, grabbing the chest on your way if you want, and then save your game at the save point. Activate the lever near the save point to reveal some wheels with thread on them down by Clotho’s dead body. Run back down to where you fought Clotho and press R1 near the strand to the right of the lever that you used to bring up the blade. Rotate the strand until it stops, you will now have a timer started (30 seconds) and will need to get to the mirror before it runs out. Just stop time and run back to the mirror and save point. When you get to the mirror, jump into it to be taken to the final boss fight with Zeus! ____________________________________________________________________________________ THE SUMMIT OF SACRIFICE BOSS FIGHT: ZEUS Zeus will attack with lightening bolts and a ground pound attack. You need to attack his hands in order to damage him and the easiest way to do this is to take out the sirens and press the “circle” button when the icon appears. This will send out a shockwave that is guaranteed to hit Zeus as long as you are close enough to the edge of the arena. Killing the sirens by using the “circle” button move will give you health and magic as well. When Zeus’s hands have been damaged enough, the “circle” icon will appear, press the “circle” button to complete this phase. When the first phase of the battle is over, Zeus will be back to normal height. He is quick and has powerful moves so be defensive when need be. Use the Golden Fleece to reflect his lightening bolts back at him and pelt him with some combos when you can get them in without taking too much damage. With the proper use of your evasive rolls, combos, and blocks with the Golden Fleece, you should be able to take him down with minimal damage. Once you take enough life from him, he will chase you around and grab you, taking the Blade of Olympus from you. Just keep using the same strategy when this happens and you will eventually see the “circle” icon appear over his head while he is in the middle of the arena. Grab him and you will inflict a lot of damage and leave him stunned near the pillars on the left side of the arena. Run to the pillar at the lower left side of the screen and press R1 to smack him with one of the pillars. Now its back to you with the Blade of Olympus and running around dodging his attacks while getting some of your own in. After a while, he will steal the blade back again and start to glow gold. When this happens, activate your Rage of the Titans and beat him down with some major combos until he goes to the center of the arena again with the “circle” icon over his head. Run in and grab him for another dose of heavy damage, leaving him near the pillars on the right side. Run to the pillars (top right pillar) and press R1 to knock the stone across the top of the pillars onto him. Zeus will return to a huge boss and light up the area with electricity, just mash the “circle” button until a cutscene takes place. When Zeus is about the strike you with the Sword of Olympus, press the buttons in order following the sequence to finish him off once and for all….???? (This may take you a couple tries, just keep at it and you’ll eventually get it). Once the cutscene is over, you will be back in the Temple where you killed Clotho, run back to the same strand as before, spin it until it stops, freeze time and make your way back to the mirror and enter it again. Watch the cutscene and then the credits. Congratulations….You just beat the second God of War! ____________________________________________________________________________________ *Unlockables* If you wish to obtain the last two Urns, you have to unlock the Challenge of the Titans and complete them with the following rankings: Urn of Fates: complete Challenge of the Titans with a rank of Mortal or better.
